View Full Version : Cadwell Sunday Pics - bit late, sorry
I know ... taken me a while to get it organised.
These are the paddock pics ... no labels at moment.
http://82.70.86.166/handk/bikes/index_dd_cadwell_paddock.php
I also have some pictures of race 1 (Hall Bends/Hairpin), Race 2 (Start/Finish Straight & Hairpin), Race 3 (Mountain) and a couple of video clips. Not as good as some I've seen on here though, but might be of interest.
Watch this space.

Um ... yeah. Sorry about that. :rolleye:
I love this pic ... it was hilarious to watch!

Err yeah, that was interesting. I'd missed the entry (12) taking Chris (77) on the brakes. I got it turned and tried to really tighten it up so I can get harder onthe power and all of a sudden Chris was there so I had to stand it up very quickly!
Very entertaining!

Its not clear from the pic, but when you're turning in, you can't see what's on the otherside of the bend, good job too I reckon!!!!
There was at least twice that I exited the turn much quicker than I would if I could have seen the carnage on the other side ;)
It has to be one of my favourite pics so far, I can't stop laughing watching this!

LMFAO!!
I must have been trying to get my helmet down!
Bit of velcro on your right arm eh? getting a bit of a tow?
Well I had to stand it up pretty quickly!
OK ... so who is this hiding behind the bale then? No good hiding there ...
http://82.70.86.166/handk/images/bikes/dd_cadwell_20050501/race_2/100_0911a.jpg
That is proper funny. As if you two weren't fully aquainted after race 1. Great photo too. At least you lot were all going slow enough to be photographed, no bugger could catch me :lol::lol:
...joke :saint:
Good paddock pics, Henry. As one who didn't make it down for the races, they give a good insight to how it must have been.
BTW, that paddock looks empty by comparison. Were the NewEra races sparsely filled (except DesmoDue, of course)?
There's a theme here, Chris and Tony touching each other!
The one that got away .....
http://82.70.86.166/handk/images/bikes/dd_cadwell_20050501/race_2/100_0912a.jpg
That is even better!
You've caught Ali in mid-highside, see the black line from his rear wheel! I was just going around Chris when something went wrong, his foot went out and then he's into the padding on the hairpin!
I get past that and then Ali jumps off the bike in front of me!
The bloke in the foreground doesn't look quite right either. :o Nice darkie, though.
Poor Mike Atack #33 must be wondering what racing is actually about... If he's not being wiped out (sorry) there are people ejecting all around him!!

Do you mean the black number 7? That was Ali.
He highsided it there, I had to thread myself between him and the bike!

Nice exit from the Hairpin ...

The first photo doesn't quite extend far enough but I was wondering if the darkie was from that rear tyre...
The next photo shows the outcome of that slide, not quite got the hang of spinning it up comeing out of a corner, nay just going through the corner let alone getting to the exit
Hope he's OK

that's funny as (sorry hope no one was hurt)
body and bike still way to over to get on the gas.
and how did that bloke end up in the barrier going into the turn ?
classic shot (carnage)

I think that happened at the same time as Dave Reilly's (#5) off, but I had my eye to the viewfinder so I nearly missed waht was happening right down in front of me.
This is quite amusing .... after Dave left his bike to continue on it's tod
http://82.70.86.166/handk/images/bikes/dd_cadwell_20050501/race_2/100_0890a.jpg
The two coming into the corner appear completely oblivious to the fact there's a guy on the deck tangled up with his bike, neither seem to be making any effort to go wide to avoid him.
Saying that if they did they'd probably end up in the highside incident just round the corner, it's a bit like it's a knockout

He'd literally just done it - I'm number 12 in that shot and I was right next to him when it happened! I don't really know what happened to him but he had moved over to block me coming up the inside on the brakes so I went to go around him, next thing I know he's got a wobble and he's into the hairpin!
Everyone just coming up there were way late on the brakes on the inside trying the outbrake thing as well! It must have been hilarious to watch!
Looks like he was gonna jump on the back or drag the rider off

H
they might be late, but they were well worth waiting for - great pics.!

Thanks. :sing:
Here's the complete set of Race 2 pics plus the movie clip. You'll need Quicktime player for that I'm afraid.

video clip was great, watching everyone pouring into that hairpin!!
How no-one went down on that lap (presumably the first) was impressive
Video clip is brilliant. Bikes looks bloody fast don't they :o
Last page ... Race 3 plus a movie from the grandstand near the Mountain.

Thanks for the appreciative noises . :)

Yes, that was the start of Race 2. I missed the fun and games at start of Race 1 because we were up at Hall Bends.
You could almost sense the intense concentration of everyone trying to get round that hairpin together without colliding!

It all happened so fast - one minute there are 5 of us more or less in a row the next minute the guy next to the barrier falls - number 12 makes it - i'm between the falling bike and Mike on the Multi- thinking ...Err where do I go now? Just get around the bike - bloke -barrier- corner without putting Mike off too much and faced with sprawling black bike and rider and frantic flag waving - Blimey it was all go :o

OK ... answered my own question now. For some reason I thought CC was oop norf. It is actually not far from a mate's place down in Wiltshire (more possible "rent a mob"!)
I think we can safely say that we'll be there anyway. :sing:
If you can come along and capture the essence of the action like you have then you are more than welcome!!
Well, you're more than welcome anyway of course (far be it from me to say you weren't) but you've taken some cracking shots that captured some of the funnier and hairy moments of the racing - you've been in the right place at the right time.
Hopefully you can keep it up.

I think that was more luck than judgement .. although I did abandon the rest of of group (family and mates) to go to the first hairpin. Glad I did.
Castle Combe looks like a fast circuit, not heard much about it probably due to there not really being track days there. I am not sure what the best position will be for viewing there.
I just posted a question about noise limits on a new thread because I am really just learning about this stuff.

Can you tell me where you'll be, and I'll do my best to avoid that area :lol:
