Been wondering about this for a while now....since everyone seems to love 'bling' clutch covers (even though mine is still virgin and std).

I wondered if it would be possible to CNC machine the letters 'DSC' into a clutch cover????

Lo and behold I think someone from Ebay germany has answered the question....

Current bid is only 30Euro as well but how about some with DSC machined instead...hee hee.

ANyone else interested???

The covers you show look like they have been machined from a solid billet
you could machine what ever design you wanted, but the cost for just a few would be very high.
You could machine your standard cover I did one with R/R cut out, looked ok but the standard covers are made of two thin aluminium pressing and by the time it was near finished you could almost crush with one hand so gave it up. I bought a Tecmoto half vented cover but only had it on for one week the noise drove me mad so put back to the standard one :lol:

It wouldn't be so easy to do an "S", either.

The guy advertised on Ebay.de once more and I contacted him this time - he can indeed machine the letters 'DSC' but price would largely depend on volume - so once again is anyone interested?

Here is the guys latest ad:

Starting bid is current £59 with £11 P&P to the UK - not sure if that would come down much at all for a volume sale.

Quite fancy one myself now ;)

Not sure I'd go that far (but then I don't ride a bike that's been repeatedly hit with the ugly stick then painted the wrong colour  ), but I'm sure there would be better supplier. I have a feeling Alex Ortner is the man to speak to about this. I doubt the 'S' would be a problem for a cnc milling machine.

If we can get really good quality ones then I'd be in as long as it's under £150.

Cheers,

Ali

If the interest is genuinely there for DSC covers then I'm pretty sure that SpeedyMoto can offer bespoke covers.
Providing an agreed design is found, and the numbers are there then they'd probably cost no more than the stock covers' £135.
The half protected designs would lend themselves to a CNC'd engraving of DSC so as to maintain the strength offered by these covers. If the letters wanted cutting out, then I see no reason why that shouldn't be possible either.

Maybe worth a poll to gauge interest??

I was thinking of one of the grey speedymoto ones in the 5 spoke design, like the wheels. For the new bike :D

Have you got a pic of one of those?

Rather than have DSC, may be it would be easier to have DOC instead
Then again maybe NOT.

Twinfan your post made me PMSL

TP and Nelly - Now that is class. What is the cost and are they available in various colours. Nelly that is lovely - what is the material, aluminium or stainless steel ?

Mmmmm .... trying to resist. Does one buy two speedymoto clutch covers in the one year?

The SpeedyMoto covers are awesome pieces of kit. They are very strong. All are at least 4mm thick, everywhere. IMO, they are the best avaiable. As strong as anything I've seen but finished like nothing else. They are polished before being anodised, giving a really deep finish.
I bring in the 5 Spoke and 10 Spoke in Ti Grey and Black. They sell at £135 each.
The other designs are available to order, but these have to come in from the US.

I'm sorely tempted by that grey 5 spoke cover. It would go better with the new bike.

I've got a black one.

You could buy it so I can buy the grey one? The bike has done around 300 miles with it fitted!

Nah, I've got a different one. I'll see if I can dig up a pic.

If you want the 10 spoke one then this is 4 spokes with an extra reinforced bit towards the front where an impact would be if you lowsided on the RHS.
