Evening,

Does any one know if a M600 rear shock will fit a 600ss?

Cheers

No it doesn't
The 750SS and 900Ss fit (330mm)
The 750SS ie and 900SSie also fit and are 5mm longer (335mm), increasing ground clearance and speeding up turn in.
The 900SSie uesd a Showa Shock which is better quallity than the Sachs on the smaller cc bikes and some 900s and the 1000SS came with adjustable length Ohlins

I think that I have the sachs one on mine.

Is it worth getting a used showa one from fleabay and have it refurbed?

How will it compare to the sachs one?

Or if I am gonna get something should I go the whole hog and get something new like a nitron?

Providing its got some damping at present, you just need some track time on it. A new shock is not going to catapult you to the front. Until you are on that grid as you haven't raced yet you will be somewhat surprised at the mayhem. Particularly first corner.

I did my first season on a std 600ss shock. Then made a 748 Ohlins one fit that was given to me. Then when a new Maxton came up cheap for a 748 I bought that and its what I'm still using.

You can't use a 748 one without some modification tho'.
