I have a 1999 900SS that had been taken care of by my mechanic which has since passed away.
I dont trust the dealership mechanics & have a bit of a mechanical problem that I'm hoping I can fix myself, or at least have a clue as to what it may be before I take it in to a dealer.
Let me start by saying that I use my bike every single day.
Lately I have had a problem with hesitation during riding.
Basically, I start it up and start to ride. As long as I just ride smoothly without hard accelerations, I dont have a problem.
But as soon as I give it a good scream from a red light or so, it starts cutting in & out while riding as if it is not getting fuel.
Then....as soon as I hit the next light I have to continuosly rev thru the cycle of the light or it will just shut off.....
I've changed the sparks, oil...etc...with no change.
It also seems to happen when I make frequnt stops throughout the day where I turn the bike on & off frequently.
thanks for any advice I can get.
P.S. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it, but one of my exhaust cans is a little loose. It may be sucking air. Could that affect the air-fuel mixture enough to cause my engine to hesitate?
