Anyone got any tips on how to get the finish on my calipers back from a milky grey to gold? I've tried Autosol without success, and Nevr Dull just made it worse..
Cheers, Illya.

I think to bring them back to their former glory
You may have to have them re-coated over the winter months.

I could be wrong though so stick around for someone to confirm it.

Are they painted or anodised?

rcgbob44,
They're just the standard finish - it's only when I parked next to a mint 996 that I noticed how dulled my calipers are. My fault for subjecting them to winter crap.?

Try a tin of Hols Engine Clean and a stiff brisle brush, always works 4 me!

Cheers mate I'll give it a go.
- I'd try the vinegar, but getting a whiff of that after the brakes have warmed up would have me stopping off at the chippy every day (like I need an excuse..):pig::pig:

I used 'Wonder Wheels' on mine and it brought them up like new.

NOTE: This stuff is viscous and could ruin them too....

I've used Wonderwheels on the calipers on my SS every month or so and it does indeed bring them up like new. I did it for 5 years with no problems. I will also be using it on the ST4s's calipers.
Wonderwheels also works wonders on stainless exhausts. It will remove the brown discolouration just by painting it on, leaving for a few minutes and washing off.

WW does work a treat, but I'd be tempted to dilute it a bit, maybe hose the calipers first before applying it, the bolts holding the calipers on my 999 seem to have tarnished heavily after using WW.

Never tried it on the exhaust though, think I'll give that a whirl, anything to save me hours of cleaning

Hmm. I did notice a bit of corrosion on them. Maybe I'll avoid getting it on the bolts in future.
