After a nice little bimble around the Sussex countryside today get home and low and behold something’s not quite right, the sodding exhaust is flapping around like a cock in a sock. On closer inspection I found that the plate that’s welded to the rear sub frame that secures the exhaust has cracked right through. It can be clearley seen that the welds have hardly penertrated the metal. Bikes just out of warranty, so looking at the pictures below what’s the chance of getting this fixed by Ducati UK? I will be writing to them to find out their take on the situation.

I think thats where a lot of the mono subframes crack. Seems to be a design fault! I bought a second hand mono subframe that had already been repaired, with a new plate welded in where yours has broken :puzzled:

I would try Ducati first, if they're not being helpful, it shouldn't cost to much to have the subframe welded again.

You could always put it on a bike with warranty left (more way to skin Ducati) Ha. New subframe sir.

:saint: I have a contact in the MOD who welded my mono subframe back together, same place,MUST BE A DESIGN FAULT (for the benefit of D.UK),they should replace/repair gratis.Apparently not a difficult repair.Mine cost a packet of milk chocolate hobnobs!and is now a work of welding art.:saint:

I'd say design fault- no matter if the warrenty is up or not, it's their design fault!
