900ss engine into 600ss frame (95')

I'm looking to drop a 900ss engine into my 600ss (1995), besides the extra can, are there going to be any problems (besides maybe upgraded suspension and brakes). I read that the bikes are the same are teh same (although the manual states the 600ss as being shorter)

Any help or advice greatly appreciated.
I want the upgrade as the 600ss lacks a bit of punch and the bikes too good to swap or a unknown 900.

The 600 SS only has one disc brake on the front doesn't it. If I was putting a 900 lump in it, I would want to have a twin disc set up on the front.

Yeh, definitely, just wondering how easy the engine will fit? will i have to make new engine plates, etc

The 600 rear end - swing arm, wheel , shock etc might not cope with the 900 engine output either.

The engine will go in fine but you will have to re-plumb the clutch slave cylinder as it will be on the left hand side of the engine.
The 900 has a 5.5" wheel with a slightly different sprocket carrier from the 600 although they are interchangeable. ( I have a wheel and carrier if you need one!)

If you need to use the 5mm spacers from the 600 on the front and top engine mounts, make sure that they are on the right hand side of the motor otherwise the chain may rub the tyre, especially if you use a 180 section tyre.

If you can find an early 750 or 900 ally swing arm they are a bit stiffer than the steel 600 one.

thanks for the offer of the wheel and carrier, i haven't started looking for an engine yet. although if any body on here has one.....(saw on ebay abit ago snapped cylinder bolts) but wanted to know it would bit , with a bit of coaxing....
