View Full Version : Mag Marchesini's
Anorak question................
My new bikes got these on
Is there anything you should put on them to protect them from road gunk & salt in the winter
I don't ride on the road that much but I'm a bit paranoid about mag wheels!
Any maintenance tips other than clean them? - do you put WD40 or GT85 on then & things to watch??
Thanks
ok I presume you know they are real mags nit just standard five spokes
ant way if they are painted there is not really much you need to do.
if you get them covered in road salt just rinse them off when you get home. and blob over any chips with a bit of paint
Also only trust tyre monkeys that have the best equipment.

If the paint starts "snaking" badly then get them re-painted ASAP, i found that out when a big corrosion spot appeared on mine, got them re-painted by a bloke in Melton who knows what he is on about and only cost £35 per wheel!!
Just keep an eye on them because they go quickly!!

try a thin layer of vasalene in the winter mate, you cant see it and it makes all the road grime a million times easier to get off when you wash em in hot soapy water!!!
I just keep washed off with soapy water and a quick wipe over with WD 40, like everyone says just keep an eye out for paint flakes & chips. And be wary of "fast" tyre fitting machines.
Thanks for all the advice
Had them weighed!! so yes mag
I'll keep mu eyes pealed for corrosion & a bit a gt85 & vasaline on a small scratch

If you do use them on the road try to miss any big potholes or you will flat spot the front one. :)

They are light f**king light!!!!!!
I was thinking of selling them but it transforms the handling/turn in speed
Doing brands indy on 21/6 so we'll see but early signs are good - helped by a set of diablo corsa's
Where are the bloody supercorsa street's??????? none anywhere
Does anyone know where you can get marchesini gold touch up paint??
Thanks
