Stuck again....:puzzled:
Fitted a goodrich clutch hose but then found my clutch master cylinder was blocked, plus the piston kept sticking and wouldn't bleed. So I put some air through it to clear it out...and clear it out it did with a blast of muck about 5ft high.
After that I could pump the air bubbles out and pump fresh fluid round no problem but when I tightened the bleed nipple up the clutch wouldn't operate. There was just no pressure there when I pulled the lever in?
So...I assumed I'd blown all the seals in the master cylinder with the air, there was enough pressure to bleed fluid round but when the nipple was tightend I thought the seals were letting fluid past rather than operating the clutch, so I took it apart to have a look.
It was so corroded I ended up tearing the rubber boot and now its probably cheaper to buy a second hand master cylinder from a breakers than it would be to try and get the internal parts.
But...I fear that might not have been the problem and I'll put a new master cylinder on just to be faced with the same problem - nothing when I pull the lever in.
Any ideas please?
