Can anyone tell me if this is a standard Ducati colour, and if so, where can I get a matching beige seat cover, cos it looks a bit odd with a yellow one on. People keep trying to tell me its had a spray job, but the bloke who sold it to me said it was a special Ltd edition colour

It's had a spray job.
I might be wrong but it's no colour I've ever seen on a Ducati out of the factory or elsewhere for that matter. Have you bought it?

No! it needs a spray job :P
Hi there and welcome to the board.
The bloke who sold it to you and said it was a special limited edition, did he have a very long nose by any chance?
I'd be VERY surprised if it was a standard colour.
Probably best to get the seat recovered, i've heard of a company in the Gloucester area who do this sort of work, but can't find their number. Worth a search on Google though. The name 'Bum Wraps' springs to mind, and no i'm not taking the p*ss.
Good luck.
Definitely not a standard colour, are the insides of the panels the same colour also?
996 only came in Red and yellow, possibly green (Matrix edition??) 916 came in Silver/black also (Senna's)
I stand to be corrected :D

Is this a wind up?
The graphics and tank protector also look faded.
When you zoom in the area between the tank and the airbox, where the fuel pump sits appears slightly yellow, or that could just be a reflection/shadow???

Time you were corrected boy, the matrix was a 998 not a 996 you thick stupid peasant:P
Was it a 998? I always thought it was a 996...
For once I admit I am wrong, I did say I stand to be corrected...Matrix 998 (http://www.ducatiaylesbury.co.uk/2004/ducati_998_matrix.htm)
Be a first though :P
It could very well have been photoshopped, unless the Agip tank pad has faded in the sun.
But Dizmo, if it's not a mockup, then just consider one thing,
If it was an official colour, would they really have supplied it with a bright yellow Bip pad.
If it's cheap, get it painted red, or black, or green, anything but yellow :)

According to my ladybird book of bikes edited by Steve Berry its a 998, so there. No wonder the bank are telling me their email systems are up the creek.
I tipped the bank off, well I made sure you're up the creek :D

Ah ha.... see I thought I was correct (to a degree at least)

Could it have been some sort of time-travel war film? Its got a sort of Afrika Corps / Western Desert look about it
It's photoshopped, and not just because of the washed out effect on the decals.
It's because I'm sure that when you become a spray painter you have to roll up one trouser leg, wear a funny apron and swear that no matter how raddled your brain becomes with thinner fumes you will never, ever, ever paint anything in this colour...not even spraying a turd to make it look lighter or working for Michael jackson

I'm getting a few conscience - pangs that someone has posted on the board for the first time, asking for help and advice, and has run up against a clique (anyone who doesn't have a beige ducati)
:o
cor, this thread has got a lot of attention over nothing.
Including me.....................................:P
