Just reading a post about people ****ging off newbies and first time poster selling stuff.

I fully agree with all the points raised that it should be respected that the paying members have more of a say on here as they are in effect paying for its existance and some people will abuse the boards just to flog stuff.

Now I was wondering if it would be possible to either limit the posts by number or have paying members only to post sale items?

This is done on another site I used to frequent a lot www.talkaudio.co.uk (no competition so I don't see a problem posting the link??)

This prevents selling items until you're past a posting threshold.

I would also like to see either an icon or wording next to the name of the poster for paid up members (like where we currently have mood etc)

This way you can see people who have established themselves from full members to those who aren't.

And all this coming from me who hasn't signed up yet!!

I will come pay day!!

Just some ideas anyway.

It was me that suggested selling should be restricted to paid up DSC members. I borrowed the idea from the lexus owners forum where you have to be a paid up gold member to sell, but anyone can post a wanted ad. Since we should know who's a paid up DSC member, it shouldn't be too hard to setup.

Another forum I'm a frequenter of is avforums.com which uses trader ratings to allow people to provide feedback in a similar fashion to ebay. All of which are aimed at stopping people just turning up to flog their wares then bu&&ering off.

I don't see it preventing new members joining the board / forum either, just getting a leash on advertising, which I know the MT/WT are doing for commercial bodies.

All we need now is a method of joining up online......
