View Full Version : Dainese leathers question
A few years back I got some Dainese jeans from Henners cos I was buying Ians 900SL.
It now appears I may be getting a bike again (sadly not a Duke yet) and have a question:
I still have the jeans which have a zip to join to a jacket but would I be correct in assuming they will only zip to a Dainese jacket? In which case it ends up cheaper for me (I am on a budget) to get a full suit made by someone else rather than just a Dainese jacket!

They may well be universal, so might be worth trying with something else.
You could always have the zip replaced to match match as well.

They will zip to Ducati branded jackets as they are made by Dainesse.

What size/colour jacket do you need Ozz. I have two black ones I intend to sell.
One cost £249, the other £299.
I'm looking for £100 each.

I am a 40ish inch chest. Do the jackets you have have CE armour in elbows/shoulders?

Yes ... 40" probably equates to a 50 in Dainese sizes.
If you want a cheap fix Ozz then buy a decent zip from any department store, you'll need to measure what length you'll need depending on the jacket you want to use.Try and find a zip that'll fit one side or the other and it'll save you attaching both sides.
Sew the new zip to the one thats already on there,NOT through the leather,it'll take about fiftenn minutes to do by hand, you might end up with a short extra length at each front but that shouldn't be a problem. This is the way I got Dainese and hein gericke jackets and trousers to fit each other.
Hein Gericke use a longer length of zip with bigger teeth than Dainese,if I remember correctly a YKK zip should fit.
Everton, so the 52 should be about right then? Have you had it long? I can let you know either way friday as I am looking at the bike tomorrow night.
Dave thanks for the tips re zips.
Oh yeah and I assume it has the zip attachment too?

Oh that was you rcgbob44. That chrome studded leather thong didn't do anything for your chicken legs.

They occassionally have strips of leather with the right zip and belt loops on them at ducati/dainese shops, idea being you can zip your jeans to your jacket etc.
You could always copy this idea and just buy a strip of material and thw correct size zips and away you go.
Alterntively you could invest in a fine Dainese jacket, it'll match the bike ;)
