Jon

So did Johnny H come down and judge the best bike then?

Dave Reilly came and gave our bike an eyball.
I think it's a prize for the end of season, not just the one meet.

JH wasn't there this weekend. Don't blame him either.

Has anyone booked sun for Brands?

Rick Hackett was at Donny for the day and had a good look round at the bikes as did dave and myself i have told john to exclude our bike as my friendship with John would make his choice difficalt to say the least(even thiugh our bike is totally prepped by me,only the pc111 has been Johns work).
The prize will be presented by John in person at the DD dinner, the person in the lead at the moment is quite a surprise!

Nice idea this 'Best prepped bike' prize for 'privateer' bikes, and hats off to JHP and everyone involved for coming up with it.

My only observation (you knew I would have one didn't you) is that it would be nice if the "rules" took into account the "best prepped bike for the available budget" since someone who's scraped a race bike up out of bits (a la Skidlids and others) has probably put more effort in than someone with enough wonga to go out and buy a new bike. But perhaps this is being taken into account anyway.

Whatever.... It's a brilliant idea and a generous prize. All credit to those involved.

Didnt see anyone down at our end of the pits (Us, Skids, Psychlist, Senna 3, Scooter916 etc) all day (except Tim M from Ducati) - and bike wasnt left unattended.

I even polished the painty bits too:D

ps: bike on the track cost so far £2,786 - including the latest engine & 2nd set of tyres :o

I hear underseat exhausts are very much en-vogue this year!

There's only three bikes I can think of that cut the mustard, two are black and none of them are mine! Good luck to all concerned. :D

oh Ali - I'm not reading that out to Alan tonight - about underseat zausts:o
He'll be pulling the one off the tri-colour road bike to fit to the DD bike otherwise. (he was thinking of doing that earlier this year - till I threatend him with divorce if he did!)

Bit pricey that mine has cost me £1500 to have out on track including its 2nd set of tyres, My Budget puts a value on the bike which includes bits I already had which currently stands at £2200 with the new tyres included but excluding Stack tacho and T200 laptimer.

And mine doesn't look like a R6 from the rear :frog:

Not that mine should be considered for any such prize as it was only built for me to do some cheap racing on.

Didn't know there was this going on ? Seeing as I still use Max on the road in between races he's hardly a 'race prepped' machine and I don't think anyone came to see him hiding in the garage.

AK

so, we are only approx £600 ahead Kev - that was due to getting the 620 engine tho (already included the BB kit & other bits in that cost)

Otherwise, the budget of £2,500 we had set for the season wouldnt have been breached.

You win the prize for the cheapest one mate - we surrender!:lol:

When is the DD dinner then?

Good luck to all, Saturday was my first visit to a DD round and I impressed by the spirit and bravery in those conditions of all involved.

Yes Lin at £404.99 you win by miles

or do I factor in that I sold my 748 race bike to go DD racing in which case I still have a few pennies in the bank :D

I just disagree. To win a prize, you must be constant in the season. Most of the time Paul's bike is very nice.

C'mon people, get booking, this will be the highlight of the year, and CK has put a lot of effort into this. So lets show CK's hard work was worth it.

Not megga bucks for a top night.

If Rich is a dealer then I'm a competent mechanic!!

There's some great bikes out there with real ingenuity and attention to detail. May the best bike win!

Did your bike stau in the garage all day then?
Just because nobody came into your garage does'nt mean it wasn't checked.
Did nobody see Rick, dave or myself in the holding area ?
Wonder why we cant get more people to donate prizes!

I didn't really look around that much in the holding are I have to say. Would have been nice to get the opportunity to actually show the 'judges' around our bikes though. Our's is a bit more than a 916 fairing and green paint.
