The weather, the circuit, the efforts of all the organisation and the friendliness of the DD paddock.....what a fantastic weekend. I would also like to thank everyone for your advice, help and encouragement.

I did see alot of the paddock faffing around with measuring jugs, draining tanks etc. I now realise that it really is worth doing, I drained the tank this morning and there was still 6.5 litres in the tank after finishing the last race.....doh!

Also after lots of comment about the incredible size of mine (battery that is), I thought I would weigh it........ 5.8kg! Any suggestions for what lightweight battery and where to get it from?

Looks like both me and the bike are going on a diet!

Just search the forum for Yuasa and you will come across an old thread.

Should shift 4 kg of weight.

Don't go too far with loosing petrol you do need to finish with 2 lts of fuel in the tank.

Was a great weekend! I used to use a Yuasa Yz7 amp/hour which is about scooter size and weighs about 1.8kg. I now use a lithium Shorai of the same capacity which weighs just 425g. It doesnt like being cold though and you are best off having special lithium cell balancers and chargers otherwise it can easily be rendered useless or combust. The battery is about £140
