888 rear tyres. 180 or 190? I've been using ex-race 190 Metz's which have been ok, do you reckon it steers quicker on a 180? Is a 190 really oversize for the rim? In the Ducati Performance Portfolio there is quite a bit of mention of 190's. So which is best? For road or track?

There should be another option; 180 best for road and track. In which case I'd tick that one.

Stick with the 180 for both.

For a 5.5 inch rim I'd use a 180 for both track and road.

For a 6 inch rim I'd use a 190.

The manual lists a 170/60,it must be tight getting a 190 in Fred!
I`m of the 180 for both train of thought myself.

Hee hee. Knew someone would belurgghh..

Yeh a 190 is fairly tight but it's in there. It doesn't look too out of place, the only prob I have is I can't get a tyre warmer round it!

Think i'll fetch me a 180 soon though.

Cheers chaps.

The factory wne through all this in it's search for the right rim width and tire combination. The 180 w/ 5.5 worked best for most riders.

Cool, thought so, cheers.

Plus I use a 120 with metal studs when it snows usually.

I think it is important to add that if using a 190 you should use a 190/55 not 50
its much much better
