Ok
So there I was bimbling along and suddenly, cough, splutter, feels very lumpy and now will not tick over when coming to a halt. It need more throttle just to keep running.
Changed the fuel Filter, Fitted new plugs.
I noticed that the original plugs were black as in running rich?
tried it again and it still it will not run correctly.
Checked plugs again and black again as in mixture rich?
I have checked the throttle butterfly valves are opening and closing properly on the throttle and they seem to be ok with the choke as well.
Hmmm, any ideas? I reckon there must be a sensor somewhere thats giving incorrect readings.
Any clues or ideas will be appreciated

Have you checked the air filter?

Yes the filter is new.

I have been directed towards the problem, Its the temperature sensor on the horizontal cylinder thats playing up and sending wrong data to the ecu, having just ordered another sensor at £44 at least I hope thats what it is!

If not the temp sensor I would guess at the throttle position sensor. This should be fairly easy to check armed with a multimeter & haynes manual. The fault might not be with the actual sensors, It could be just a bad connection to the sensor requiring a good wiggle.
