The last time my '98 900SSie ran was when we moved house in October 2011 and I rode it across from our old place. It's been sitting SORNed under a dust cover since then while most of the spare time and money went on doing things to the new house and keeping the other bike in top form to get me to work every day (80-miles round trip). As things have calmed down a bit, the sun was out, and I'm getting tired of Mrs Bloke's enquiries about "what's happening with that old one in the garage?" I threw off the covers, wheeled it out, turned the key and it started first time. Big up for Optimate and MotoBatt, and so much for the frailty of Italian bikes. Check over for MoT, then a service, then get it taxed and I'll have my pretty Sunday toy back for the 'summer'. :D

Maybe think about changing the belts!

Absolutely! Belts, oil & filter, plugs, brake & clutch fluid just for starters.

Good looking bike!

Diablo tyres and braided hoses tick the right boxes for me as well.

Enjoy.

just have a look at the belts and check them for obvious signs of deterioration .. cracks, splits

wouldn't worry about anything else

should be right

enjoy it
