Insurance for an SP2

Anyone got any recommendations for Fully Comp insurance on my SP2 ? Would it qualify for a classic policy now (1990) ?

Try Footman James classic bike policy. They added my '93 888 to my Classic bike policy for a very reasonable extra £40 despite it being a little young. The cut off is 15 years but you should be OK even if you are a few months short.

With Carole Nash you get breakdown assistance included ( Could be handy to have )

or even Equity Red Star - I got my RSV Factory + the Duke for a combined total of £486.00 fully comp, they charged me an additional £42.00 per year for the 851.

Ducati insurance. Carole Nash wouldn't touch the SPS because of the availability (or lack of) parts and its value. If you have other bikes they can put 4 in total on the same policy. It worked out cheaper for me to do that than get a stand alone policy for the SPS.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I've just today gone with Footman James - Fully comp, unlimited miles, NCB not required, european breakdown cover plus Legal protection all for £176 all in ! Result ! Best other quote I could get was £500+ AND they wanted me to fit an alarm

Pleased you got a good quote. I've been with them about 10 years and they don't try to sting you by hiking the quotes up each year. If you have the same policy as me you can add extra 'classic' bikes for little/no extra cost. I think I was charged £120 at last renewal for a similar deal though mine is a 'special' (for Vintage Jap club members). I had to use the breakdown cover a year or so back when I blew my RG up and they recovered me very efficiently.
