I've had real fun today;

- I was putting up some fence posts using some of those metpost thingies and whilst hammering the last one into place with a well-placed clout, thought I could smell gas!!!

Yep - you've guessed it - I'd managed to spear a gas supply some 3 feet under ground!!! :o:o:o:o:o

So after a few frantic phone calls and turning off anything electrical, I'd managed to get Transco round who managed to fix the bugger this evening!!! :roll:

They had to dig a bluddy great hole to get to the bugga, so I'll not be able to get a fence post anywhere near it now, but will need tons of concrete ;)

This pipe was only a couple of inches across, so I had to be pretty unlucky to harpoon the blighter.

Thank god for Sky+ as I could record the BSB action and have just finished watching it. Oh and to those nice fellas at Transco - here's hoping they don't send me a big bill!!!! ;)

Was there a warning label on the metpost?

If not you could probably sue them for selling it to you :D

gas pipes are occupational hazard for me i find loads of'em, they are never where they are suppose to be - after ripping a few out with the digger and having to pay the repair charge i thought it may be a good idea to get transco to tell me where the gas pipes were - they charge for this service as well- but believe it or not its cheaper to have them fix a pipe than for them to tell you where it is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:puzzled:
