Donington was disappointing as on average I was 5 to 6 seconds off what I was doing in 2012 and my best 2013 lap was just over 3 seconds off my best from last year
At Snetterton the pattern continues, I qualified 7 seconds slower than I did last year and during the races just about managed to get within 2 secs of my 2012 quali time, which means I was over 4 seconds off my best lap from last season
At least i haven't crashed for a few meetings but I need to find those missing seconds

Sooner rather than later would be better
at least Cadwell is only a couple of weeks away and having paid for the practice day yesterday hopefully the extra track time of a 3 day event will see me close the gap on my old self.

Which Pub Matt
Trouble is I was already 10 secs behind you last year, by the time I find my lost (gained) 5 secs you will probably have done the same.
You can have a look for yours at Brands tomorrow evening if your going

I did get on the Brands evening track day, in the 'very' novice group, it did wonders for my confidence, made me feel like a 'real racer' I had people all night coming over saying things like f'kin 'ell your f'kin quick! and wow! what's that bike? and "oh" when I say its an old SS with 60bhp.
I spoke to Ian Cobby while I was there, he's a friendly and helpful chap.
I spent Monday morning modifying my thumb brake bracket to make some more room to raise the forks a bit, I managed to raise them by a further 12mm.
I really had a problem getting round the corners at Snett, both the long fast ones and more surprisingly the hairpins. my mid corner speed was much slower than other people, who came flying past several times. I felt all the time like the front was pushing out mid corner.
I think it was better at Brands, but I don't really know until I'm on track with you guys again.

Simple solution - fit 54mm clip-ons

Simple solution - fit 54mm clip-ons
or modify my 50mm thumb brake bracket to a 54mm thumb brake bracket,,,,,,,
It clamps to the fork under the clip-ons which limited how far up I could move the fork.

Well slight improvement at Cadwell
On average only 2 to 3 seconds down on last year with my best lap of the weekend only being a tad over 1 second slower than last years best lap, in race 2 which was Sundays first race and that lap was done with a fogging visor and popping it open 6 to 7 times a lap.

50/50 fairy liquid/meths works well for fogging visor

If you drink that, then your vision goes blurry and you don't notice the fogging!!
