With my back ache getting worse it looks like its time to part with my beloved 748 and the only thing i like the look of in the Ducati line up is a monster S4....of course the S4r would be nicer but the budget doesn't stretch that far....well it don't if i wont to carry on racing next year :sniff:

At the moment theres a couple of things bothering me which i hope you can answer ...As im not exactly what you'd call average size at nearly 6'6" and only ever having ridden a 600 monster many moons ago (which i do remember being small'ish) How does everyone else find the fit ?...especially if your tall ?

The other thing is i may have slowed down on the road to what i used to do but the racer in me still wants to get round corners as fast as possible,so ....How limited is the ground clearance ?

Cheers

Youll be slightly more comfortable on the S4 with its taller saddle height...ground clearance is a major issue on standard setup..but cheap(ish) rearsets are readily available for the S4.

Nattyboy top tip; A cheap way of sorting the ground clearance is to use the hangers and pegs of an ST4 as they fit straight on (look better too).

Agree with Nat on the footrest problem,if you fit a "race" rearset the bike becomes very uncomfortable for anything but the shortest rides.ST rout is better for comfort.

Hi Scuffy,

If you come to the next Notts DSC meet you can have a go on my S4r if you like.
Cheaper option might be Cyclecat bar raisers have a look at this thread (http://ducatisportingclub.com/xmb/viewthread.php?tid=23954)

This would be a good thread just to say I love my S4.
