View Full Version : Hello
Hello to you all,I hope to shortly buy a 999, I am probably going to buy from a dealer as I have to sell my current bike and would rather px than advertise ( once had a GSXR pinched a week after advertising in auto trader ) I live in the North East so I will try M&S and Cobb and Jagger. If you know of a 999 for sale please let me know.
I am looking for a 2002/3 model, are there any things I should be looking out for ?.
I am not new to Ducatis as I have previously owned a 900ss and a 916 but the last coule of years I have been on Hondas, SP1 and now CB 1300.
I enjoy reading this forum and hopefully will be able to contribute.

You could always keep your current bike and buy an 888/851:saint:
While your at the virtual bar I'll have a pint of old fishtank water please. That will dilute the bottle of Lambrini I'm about to drink. :barfy:

Hello and welcome,..mine's a Stella.
If you are looking to buy from a dealer, you could do no worse than have a look at DUK's bike search facility. You just select the model of bike you are looking for and it will search for all the 'Aproved Ducati's' at the official dealers.

Usual things to look for are service history and evidence of crashes, scrapes etc.Early 999's were recalled twice, once for the oil coolers, and for a small clip to keep the brake hose out of the fork lockstops.Ask the dealer if the checks/work have been done.
Great bikes,I love 'em,you wont be disapointed.
Welcome, mines a diet coke! :D
There is a mine of information on here, a search might reveal some more tips, but the main points have been mentioned above!
Hello and welcome. You'll get a lot from this forum....one of the few I use that actually provides good quality information and answers to your questions. As well as the normal banter!
Espresso s'il vous plait.
