Monty has put forward a request for dates to Motor Sport Vision and we are waiting to hear back from them.

Cadwell, Brands, Snetterton or Oulton Park.

Always happy for a day out at Cadwell (7 times this year), and I would love to have a go at Oulton Park.

We need to keep the price to a realistic level so people who are not trackday addicts will come along and not have to risk too much money.
For me there is a huge difference between spending £140 and £90 on a trackday (ignoring travel, accomodation etc).

That means Cadwell or Mallory.

Lydden is nice, well at least for the smaller bikes!

(and its not far from home:smug: )

Don't forget there will be an Oulton date in 2006 that I am organising with No Limits and the DSC, hopefully to be just before a Oulton DD round (if there is such a thing) which will obviously give the DD boys a bit of a look-see

HW

Mallory is a good idea Paul. Very "central" too.

I agree with the cost aspect. If there had been camping at Brands I might have considered it, but even with the reduction in price once you add in travelling and an overnight stay in a hotel it's a £200 day out.

That said ... my aim for next year is to try some other cicuits. I got to know Cadwell very well this year, with 7 out of 8 track days there. Love the place, seems like home now! I reckon that by becoming familiar with a circuit I then could concentrate on understanding my riding ability (or lack of) and the bike's capabilities. Time now to go and apply it to other circuits.

The only one I am not keen to do is Snetterton - didn't like the circuit and also spent some time on my a**se there! :sniff:

Oh, and I shall make sure I get to Oulton Park if there is an organised event there (provided I am not away on holiday or something like that).

MSV are changing the layout of Snetterton and I quite like what they are doing to be honest - don't write it off yet!

I can see me going there again next year :D

Also the scene of my best race result :D

Monty - just a plea, any chance you can get the date to 'tag' onto a w/end?
Cadwell on the Monday was great for us:) - likewise a Friday would too

Brands, not the best geograpahical location and crap access via the M25 for anyone North of Harlow.
If the DSC day there was anything to go by it's not that popular with the membership.

Both Mallory and Cadwell have been full.

Snetterton is gonna get better layout wise but that isn't gonna make it any easier to get to.

Oulton, good circuit, good road links but its on the "wet" side of the country. Support the NW region day there.

Donningtion, good circuit, good road links, but pricey, no worse than brands, difficult to get a noisy day.

Mallory, not the most inspiring circuit, reasonable road links.

Croft, so far North you'll get a Nose bleed. Good road links, good circuit, as cheap as cadwell?

Just my 2cents worth in the unlikely event that anyone is interested.

Ray,

Donny has as many noisy days as quiet days again, I've done more days at Donny than at Oulton this year. They do still have quiet days, but there's a good few trackdays there each month so plenty for everyone.

NW - The rain capital of the UK!

Oulton definately first choice, followed by Cadwell.

Mallory is a go kart track IMHO. Rocky is central and better than Mallory, if central is an issue.

Brands is somewhere in the wilderness.

I would guess Cadwell may be cheaper than Oulton and Brands if its Motor Sport Vision.

21-Oct-2005, 12:51
Henry, they are creating a big infield section to lengthen the track.

Monty
21-Oct-2005, 16:23
Ok, to answer some of this.

Brands-not as popular as some would think-not even by the locals if this year is anything to judge by.
Cadwell-I love it, we can camp, and it's very reasonable price wise. The facilities are also being improved.
Oulton-Love this one too, but it rains a lot and days are very hard to get as there is only ONE bike day a week-and all the other TDO's want them.
Donington-also love this circuit, noisy days are fewer than quiet days, and Donington charge a fortune for the hire and are very picky who they have there.
Mallory-crap facilities, and a bit of a micky mouse layout-but it is fairly central.
Rockingham-I like it as do some others, others hate it and say they will never go again. In fairness since BMW took over there are few days available there now-but it is very central and has excellent facilities.
Croft-to quote Ray "so far North you'll get a Nose bleed.".........the last time(only time) I have been to Croft was in 1971 and the circuit is completely different now-but it is a bloody long way.

I have asked for dates either side of a weekend-just for you Charlotte-but you must be nuts if you think I'm going to try for Lydden-that's only fit for 125's and supermoto's-AND it's bloody long way for anyone who doesn't live in East Kent!

:lol: the DD boys would luv it - particularly the 583's.
Was a good'n for the viffer, but neither of us would take our bigger bikes there Monty

Yep, i wont be rushing back to snetterton unless the re design makes it look a bit more like Cadwell and also moves it 150 miles closer to me!

From the club point of view in terms of getting a full grid then its really got to be Cadwell or Mallory.
