1) is it any good?

Email the guys at Scottoiler and they will send you detailed instructions so you can judge for yourself. They are brilliant to deal with.

I have a Scottoiler on my 999S, fitted by the dealer (as I'm a numpty). It's not the large touring version reservoir, just the little one, strapped to the frame - you can just see it through the vent in the side panel, next to your knee when sitting on the bike, where the two fasteners are.
It looks a straightforward proposition to fit (for non-numpties) and it keeps the chain in damned good nick, but leads to filthy back wheel syndrome.
I recommend it.

Scott oiler = Sam Brown Belt and beards :lol:
Be a real biker and oil your chain while it's on the stand

Sorry to disappoint you Nige, but Scottoiler = almost twice the mileage on a chain than your recommended action, usually cos most people can't be bothered to do it as often as needed, like every time you use the bike ;)
Oh yes, I may have the beard but I use a full flourescent jacket, not a Sam Browne belt :P

Nat, I've had no problems at all with the oiler on my 999. Works a treat.
Cheers.

I fitted one at the finish up
bought an aluminium front sprocket cover from MPL, made it easyier to see where yhe pipe was.
Worked out really smart
the bike had done 14000 miles with it on when I got rid
