Hi Monty,
Which one is the "Members Only, Ducatis Only" Blue Riband event for the club ???
Or are all three / four ????
Not sure the club can support 3 months of consecutive "restricted entry" trackdays, just my opinion mate ...
Good luck though .....

Bugger can't do brands in may as I have one at llandow on the 2nd june
But could be up for cadwell in August
The intention is that since this is a Ducati club they will ALL be restricted to Ducati's-but who knows? Since it is over 6 months until the first one I would hope we will be able to sell it out.

No mate-it's a club only event, JPM is trying to organise something with Mark at NoLimits to take a block of spaces at one of his events so you would be mixing with his other riders.
John
Monty you can put me down as a positive for one of them.
If you open the other dates up to members with no ducati bikes.
You can make it all three.

I think DSC memebrs on any bike would appeal more and even I, with my ARRAGGGHHH attitude would accept that!! ....yep for all three for me depending on cost (of course!!)
Good work Monty!!!
Ian, as Monty says I'm sorting one out for earlier in the year at Oulton with No limits, the plan is to get it before the DD round to get a few of them up for that
I actually had an email from Mark last week so dates will be sorted shortly :)
My intention was to try some other circuits next year, seeing as my bike knows it's way round Cadwell on it's own now!
Brands in May - very proabably.
Cadwell in Aug - can't, we'll be just on our way back from holiday on 21st.
Oulton Park in Sept - definately.
I'll be there at Brands again!

'Ducati's and other V-twins' would work for me, I should have the Mifuni Kronos C90 finished by then!

We'll be flying back from Auckland on the 21st so I doubt I will be around. It's a bloody long way.

... this club is about the members not what they ride. Propose members only trackdays as that way we can be pretty sure of courtious behaviour compared with anyone on a Ducati/anything else approach. After all, you don't have to own a Ducati to become a member of this club .... :saint:

I have been thinking about this tonight and MAY change this to members only-I date would have to be Ducati only I feel and the others members only-I will discuss this with the MT and all will be made clear when the booking form is released-soon before you all start nagging me.:P

I know, shock horror! Mind you, we'll have just been sailing around the Cook Islands to Tonga on a "tall ship" for 3 weeks, then 4 days in Auckland on the way home, so I'll live I guess!
Ambition for next year is to get to know the other UK circuits anyway, and maybe even give Snetterton another go. Maybe.

I havn't done a DSC track day yet but I have no problem with Jap bikes being on track as long as they belong to the DSC.
Can't wait to see Henners on the blade with stabilisers :lol:
I would have thought DSC member only, but any bike would be reasonable. It's the people that count, it's a club day not a "one brand" day. Just my 4 penneth worth.
Yippee put me down for Oulton
Boo Hiss, can't do Cadwell coz of on my jollys.
:puzzled:Where's Brands, never heard of it, sounds a bit too many miles for me, i don't travel very well:lol:

I have three Ducati's,wont take any of them on a track.Got a nc30 for that, maybe I'll come along and watch instead.
Our plans:
Brands: very likely, prob taking 4 bikes between us, Andy & Paul
Cadwell: depending on finances, one day (but as AK's 50th is on the 19th, I might just have to forgo the treat I was booking elsewhere:o )
Oulton: no, as will be up there before DD round instead.

cadwell a possibilty.
oulton probably not as its most likely after DD race and a chuffing long way for me to go.
great selection of trackdays though.

That's why the NW unofficial DSC TD at Oulton will be just before the DD round

After seeing what Brands was like this year with mostly Dukes and a mix in each group of other bikes, as said it the members that had the track respect not the bikes. Im up for all three, but would love to use the Gixer for the track and the Duke for the DSC rideouts.

Probably yes to all three, although I've not done Oulton Park so that will be the one I think twice about, if any.
I don't mind what bikes people ride as long as they are club members. Getting it fully subscribed and full of DSC members is the priority, I think.

Assen...
You could always bring another bike for the trackday and the DD racer for the races!
I am!!!!!!
I'm all for these days being restricted to club members only, so Monty can you please put me down for as many days as I will be allowed to ride.....withoout having to borrow Catherines bike.
Dickie,
I think you may well find that spaces on the trackday may well go to the general membership ahead of the DD racers as an incentive to get as many members to be part of the weekend as possible .....
which I think is a great idea Dibble, particularly if there are not enough places for all the racers to have a go on the trackday, as has been mentioned somewhere.
Means more members can have the chance to take their bikes over too, for what should be a great w/end.
Was mentioned that DD'ers will get a good untimed as well as timed practice on the Sat - so they would all be 'new' to the track (cant see there being many trackdays before the beginning of may there, as the track is being 're-worked' at the moment) ... just hope it is finished in time:o

just want to get the others pencilled and book them all
do no limits give a discout to dsc members?
Yep 10%
Normal price for the date is £159 but DSC members are getting it for £144, it's all in the original thread

No Limits have excellent instructors. Be wary of the short Scottish ones though ...

The Brands, Oulton and 1 Cadwell days will be members on any bike, the other Cadwell day will be Ducati's only-this has been sorted at todays (Saturday) MT meeting. Look for the forms with your next Pronto in about 2 weeks and then get filling them in.

So bring both bikes Chillo and do one and one-sorted!
On another vein, the Brands and Oulton days have been released back to MSV, but we will be offered places at the Oulton day run by MSV. I will post the info as soon as I receive it.

I've raced at Cadwell on a Lambretta GP200, and would like to do it on my 851 SP2, but will still be recovering from watching Radiohead at the V weekend on the Sunday, so may have to give it a miss.
Really fancy a go round Oulton though - is there any noise limits ? The SP2 is , er, rather loud, even though she's still got the cans she left the factor with !
I've not done any other Trackdays - what's the score with rules, preparing the bike, etc etc ? Any tips ?

this mite sonuds really sad and perthetic but i'v never done a trak day but would like to try it out. now i know there is this one going on at cadwell. but what is it really like and what aout my bike? do i need to prep it? i'll be riding it there so any tips or help from anyone? what about tuition ect is it just a matter of turning up and having a go?
Hi Wolverine,
The main prep for your bike will be taping up the lights, checking tyre pressures, and making sure all the basic things(chain tension, bolt tightness is ok).
A few of the guys are instructors and are all happy to help
Last year there was a session at lunchtime that allows those that have never been on a track to have a go.
There is an evening session this time as well,so if you didn't fancy a whole day,you could do that.

Everyone has to start somewhere!
If you want to give it a go I can recommend that DSC track days are good days to get your first taster. What bike are you on?
You don't have to prep it but I'd recommend taping over your speedo, removing your mirrors and indicators. If you can afford it and are likely to go on with it you can start to consider track bodywork if you want but maybe you just want to give it a go first.
As for tuition, there'll be a number of instructors available to help out. All you need to do is pop by and ask, I'll be one of them. If you need anything you can come and ask me and I'll help out - my name is Tony.
What is it really like? Well, I love it on the track so I'm only going to tell you how cool it is. No cars, no oncoming traffic, use the whole track and no gravel or crap on corners or manhole covers ... just get out there and feel comfortable running at your own pace.
TP you NEARLY made me feel comfortable about lending you the SP5 with that post!
Seriously though,Tony is spot on with his comments and the DSC trackday is probably the most comfortable one to learn on.

Don't worry, for part of it I daresay I'll be on a 620Sport.
Just go in novice and run your own pace, you'll likely find you're not the quickest and not the slowest and you can start building up some confidence.
It's no worries, you'll be fine.

Ha!
It's alright mate, I'll just ride the racebike and my 998R. That's enough for anybody!

Like TP said a DSC trackday is perfect to start. I did my first DSC trackday after only passing my test a year and having my SS 6 months!
Everybody is dead friendly, considerate, supportive and will help as much as they can. If you are riding down and back you won't wanna be going mad on track and novice group will be perfect for you. No Limits are an excellent trackday company and will move you up and down groups according to your ability. Also, because it is Ducati's only and a DSC day you won't have the "boy racer" types trying to prove a point and look good by terrorizing the novice group!
We mostly know each other so it's more of a family day and a good chance to put names to faces!
You'll just need some tape, your allan keys for your mirrors, flapjack, bananas for your energy and bottled water! You'll need to let out some air in your tyres so a gauge might be good to bring with you and some one can always lend you a pump to pump them up for the journey home:)
Oh...You asked about people on track. I'm not sure exactly but I reckon that there are about 20 or so in each group. Marshalls normally let you out in little packs of around 5 at a time. If you are fast it's best to get to the front so that you have clear track in front of you. If you are worried, then front is best again. If there are those that are faster they will move to the front anyway and leave you in peace:)
I think the biggest group is inters.
