Hi guys, is there anyone out there who has experiance of living in germany. Looking to buy a small bolt-hole in the Eifle, and am having great problems with putting together guideline figures for the running costs outr there; ie gas ,electric, water etc .
If anyone can help please do.

I live in Denmark, on the border with Germany but GF lives in Germany i will get her to let me know what her costs are and get back to you

VAT is due to rise to 19 %

monthy bills
electric € 70 a month
water € 80 a month
bins € 20 a month max
phone bill € 80 ( broadband with 3000mbit connection)
TV licence € 30 ( no one has one!!)
this is for a 3 bedroom flat , ive just moved into a house so these will go up a little.
bike insurance is expencive so no-one has fully comp
bikes dont get stolen like they do in the UK
any questions fire away......

tell me about it, we've been out there loads of times. We will have an investment income, so the idea is to sort of retire v-early . And enjoy.
It all depends on the sums adding up. We are currently considering a small barn type dwelling with space split between living and storage/garage!!!
