Still doing the home-work run on the winter hack a few days a week, haven't had time for anything else.

Yep Still riding on the s4r much more better in the wet than 748s, still quite warm to here normally salt about by now. When they do chuck it everywhere I will try and cycle to work to save it:lol::lol::lol:
Still commuting on my 750SS, and I'll probably be out tomorrow am (can't do Popham guys and gals).
Nope, the weather has been predictably ****, it hasnt stopped raining for weeks (thats what it feels like) and now its even colder :(
Out every saturday morning for 3 or 4 hours for IAM observed sessions and have not got wet so far it was however cold enough for my thermals today.
Wish i could afford and had the space for a winter hack to save my ST but alas no so extra cleaning is the order of the day.
No sign of salt down here, Im pleased to say.

Did a track day at Cadwell on 1st Nov, was hoping to find time to swap back to road fairing this weekend. Mind you, a gritter just went throught the village with it's light flashing. Didn't think it was that cold, but the forcsat says min 4C tonight, which is in frost territory. :sniff:

Only got home an hour ago frozen (need heated grips!) made the mistake of stopping at mates house for a brew and got long story of how he had just been dumped by his girlfriend! Nice pics Michael, the first one looks like someone sending smoke signals from the other side of Whernside, is it your good lady signalling that your dinners ready? :D

Daytona grips, had them on max for a lot of the last bit down Shap, stil had the thin gloves on as I didn't want to stop to change to me winter ones. It was cold enough heading back at 4, wouldn't want to be much later.
Dinner ready?? got home and she went out to Carlisle for a Chinese meal leaving me to make me own bowl of soup :)

Yeh went for a blast on thecrf with a few mates, bumped into Gizmo and Martin in Hawes... It was a buitifull day but fooking cold, my mates shock snaped on the way back (again) and he had to wait 2hrs for the van .
have to say the dukes been away a while but supermotos are the way forward, 240 miles and only a handfull of cars and no plolice :D
Not done much on the 996 recently but the KTM and dirtbike have been in regular use.
The KTM is great to ride in the wet and when the roads are horrible:D
Nice pics Mike, beautiful countryside.

My brother is taking his CBT on 26th November on his Hongalongadingdong CG125-alike.
He spent 2 hours riding around in freezing cold circles today
If I had a bike, it would be in the garage now. My old bones aren't up to all year round biking anymore (I'm 29).

Yup. We had a good turnout at Popham today too. Liberal doses of F365 to take care of the salt between washes. And liberal doses of chocolate/coffee to keep warm. Not so many dodderers off to the garden centres this time of the year, so easier to maintain a brisk pace too.
CK - was that you two turning up on 4 wheels then ????? :P;)

First really cold morning down here today and as the bike hadn't been used over the weekend, predictably enough it didn't *quite* have the juice to fire the engine up. Bunged it on the Optimate for an hour and it started no probs. As long as it's used daily I'm sure it'll be all right.
TBH last couple of winters down here you count the *really* cold days on the fingers of one hand, I reckon. But I don't do much pleasure riding in the winter, just commuting.
Sure i'm still ridding, why should i be? :D:D

Nice pic (again) Mike.
I spent most of the day up a tree playing at lumberjacks. Its the one in my garden that blocks the setting sun in the summer when i'm having a BBQ so it got a trim that matches my haircut. Can't wait for the 3 days next year i'll benefit from all that work.
At least got more wood for another bonfire:D

Thanks Shaun, heres another piccie from Saturday, this one on way up Hartside looking into the Lakes, won't get any more pics this weekend, theres heavy snow forecast for northern England/Borders and I'm meant to be mountain biking at Glentress for the whole weekend :( Might need that wood you've chopped to keep warm.

Hmmmm, looking at the weather - I must go out for a spin for an hour or more this afternoon: -2ºC at night & effectively 20-25ºC in the sun at midday !

Ooohhh Gizmo that is goddam gorgeous :D What a fantastic picture.
Was there another thread about what to do to your bike to protect it from bad weather? Didn't someone say something about spray polish? I hope so, because after yesterday's little trip to Ducati Aylesbury to get my bike fixed after Inconsiderate Israeli dropped her, I washed her and sprayed her with Mr Sheen.
After her ordeal with the mechanic, I took her around the houses for a bit of a spin. That new adjustable clutch (not the Patter Parts one because that didn't fit but a new Ducati one :D with matching brake lever) and am completely thrilled with how lovely she is to ride. And Easy???? Easiest bike I've ever owned. When I got home I followed Skidywids advice and threw a bucket of water over her, then another clean one (first had car shampoo in) and then shammied her off. Then parked her on a mat in my garage to dry off.
Comments on winter riding:-
Frozen extremities:-
Hands - 8/10
Feet - 5/10
Face (because I had to flip visor up to see anything)- 7/10
Chest - 2/10
Rest of torso - 0/10 - toasty warm thanks to new Held trousers and red jacket.
Nice to be out there, in spite of the cold, but only 'cause I had to get the bike to the garage. Today, without any need to ride her, I didn't.
Shame on me :frog:

Its almost impossible to take a bad picture with the weather we've just had and the Lakes or Pennines as a backdrop, I'm no photogrpaher but a reasonable camera and a bit of time in photoshop and they look OK :)
try Scottoiler 365 Ruth I've used it for a while and it seems to work. tend to wash my bike when I come in, let it dry a bit then coat with 365. Silicon spray can be used as well but in't anti corrosive. Make sure you wrap discs/brakes with a plastic bag so the 365 or silicon can't get on them, I'd wrap the tyres with an old towel if I was spraying silicon.
