View Full Version : Trouble Always Comes in Threes

This old adage certainly came true last night! After the parking ticket and my mate's husband dropping my bike, I was wondering what the third bit of bad luck was going to be. Didn't have to wonder for long. I got dumped last night :(:puzzled:

The really annoying thing, though, is that I now have 200 quids worth of stuff to build a lean-to and no Handy Andy to do it for me. So, can anyone recommend a chippy in my area who would complete (practically from scratch) this bit of home improvement? I will pay, but obviously not what Andy was being paid :devil::devil::P

Christmas and Birthday. My birthday's in December. I had arranged a luxury weekend break at a 5 star hotel for that, and paid for the flights and accomodation. Well, everything happens for a reason. I'll see if I can persuade my Mum to come instead. She could do with a break.:roll:

Dear oh dear Ruthie, not a good weekend for you really.

Have a really nice bottle of wine and a really nice meal tonight.

And Dibs has just cancelled - some excuse about a football injury :o:o

Thanks, Rob and Mogwai. Good idea on the meal, TP but as you suggested it should be 'really good' it's necessary that someone other than me cooks it. Just spoken to friend (the very friend who dropped my bike in fact) and am going up there with the dog for some tea and sympathy. Minnie isn't getting an outing today after all. Just as well not to ride when emotional, I suppose.

Is he any good as a Handy man, i'm sure he's feeling guilty enough to try and help.

Hope the pics from the Diner and Dance aren't the cause of your latest bit of bad luck.

Skids, if those pictures are the cause, and I doubt it as he took no interested whatsoever in my DSC exploits, or anything to do with my bikes at all, I don't think I'd have anything to be ashamed of. Just a woman having a bloody good time, I thought. What's wrong with that?

Anyway, friend didn't volunteer to fix my lean-to. Obviously not feeling that guilty about my bike, then. Had I asked, I'm sure his reaction would be 'why don't you pay someone to do it' since throwing money at a problem is invariably the solution for him, and it invariably works.:lol:

Charlotte, I'm sick of the sound of my own voice now so won't be bending your ear this evening, but thanks for the offer. And thanks for the other comments. I'm planning to close this chapter and move on. Can't stand to be a moaning Minnie. :D
