Hi. Taking engine out this weekend, and the workshop manual I have seems to differ from what I see on my bike - mine is a 748r so I suppose there will be differences. I've taken tank off and top half of airbox, and I see two bellmouths - but in the manual it is different - can anyone tell me the procedure from here?
Any help appreciated!

If you have more than two then I would be worried!
What does it say in the manual?
If you are unsure about this, then perhaps you would be better letting a 'pro' remove the engine.
You are at stage 1 of about 35...and then you have to put it all back together again!

your manual is probably for the standard bike.
the R has a different air box set up as you have just discovered.
send neil748r a U2U he has one and im sure he has done allot of work on it.
to be honest though if you are brave enough to take the engine out I would be surprised if you could not just work your own way through it
The R is quite different. The easiest way I can describe the removal is that the lower airbox needs to be removed with the throttles...........
There are two bolts securing it to the rocker covers of the front and rear cylinders, the wiring connectors needs disconnecting but the real pain is the throttle cable!! It's a bastid  very fiddly, but be patient.
