As i have stripped it down for the header tank to be replaced and give bike a good clean up i noticed that both air intakes have been cut so they fit flush against the top fairing...Why would this need to be done:puzzled::puzzled:

Is there different ones available as in sizes etc:puzzled::puzzled:

mines a 2000 748bip its running airbox filter instead of intake filters....part no. on it is 442.1.015.1a and has a sticker above it with e3c950.235

any ideas was gonna fit carbon ones but not sure now if ive got to cut them as well:puzzled::puzzled:

Maybe they were done to allow a poor quality trackday fairing to be fitted. First time I've seen it

Could be ...bit extreme tho i would have cut the trackfairings to make fit personally and added good old duct tape:D

There are two types of top fairing, road and race (corse part), the race part requires air tubes with larger openings so it looks like someone has used those road tubes on a race top fairing and cut the corners off to fit.

just a guess but seem to make sense.??

I think there are 3 sizes of air tubes, and maybe (as stated above) the track fairings needed these cut to fit - is it the same both sides?
