For those of you who have stripped down to the frame, or just need wheels/swingarms power coating, i've got some good news...

Friend of mine, his brother works for Dymag, he's currently powder coating a set of 5 spoke mags for 50 quid.. He's willing to do the any job. Reckon £50 is a good deal? anyone agree?????:sing::sing:

Hi,

I'm near J28 of the M1 and looking to get my swing arm done in gloss black. Willing to travel and meet up in the South.

Regularly (every week) travel down to London, Bristol etc if this helps.

Yep I can get to London, Docklands to pick bits up.

Just so you all know Steve and myself work for the same company so I can get to see him quite often and pass bits on.:smug:

If Dymag do them then most definately. They are "The Boys" when it comes to magnesium.

From the above quote, can you confirm if:

a) Your friend is offering to do the powder coating

or

b) Your friend's brother who works for Dymag is offering to do the powder coating?

If answer is (b), then this sounds like a good deal.
If answer is (a), then it could still be a good deal but need to know more about your friend's ability/equipment/magnesium alloy pre coating anti-corrosion treatments (alodine etch primer or anodising etc).

Would appreciate some more info if poss.

Ta,

R X

Steve is out and about at the moment, he won't be back untill later but he will be speaking to his mate tonight for me.

Seems like its Bad news.......:sniff::sniff:

His boss ain't keen on him doing private work, he doesn't mind doing the work, but its gotta go thru the books!!! Also doesn't reckon he can do it so cheap either... Now looking at £75 a wheel (they are rechromated, though)

He's going to get prices for swingarms and frames, but wouldn't go holding your breaths... Don't think his boss is keen for any side jobs, as the work load is high at the moment. SOZ FOR DUFF INFO!!! If your still interested let me know, as its obviously a professional job/finish.....

Rechromate and paint for £75 per wheel still sounds like a bargain if I am honest, I'm still interested

Well if your still interested, we'll have to sort out getting them down to me, you'll be looking at a 5 to 6 day turn around at the workshop. But i'll get them in no problem...
