I'll check tomorrowbut I think the answer is Yes, put may have to adapt the steering damper mount/steering lock

I know I'm being silly but you could have one of these

They are rather nice and expensive:o

i looked into this and concluded that the damper mounting wasnt compatabe! as said by Kev

I couldnt really see a way around it, bottom yoke seems fine though

Hi All, I recently fitted a 749 top yoke to my 996, but have ohlins damper, all I needed to do was to extend the length of the spacer to the frame.
Steering lock no good, but never used it anyway!!!

It gives a slighty higher bar position and different angle.
Hope this is of use Chris.

Dave

I have also looked into this and have in fact seen a 999 fitted with a 996 top yoke so I know the 999 fits a 996 etc.

As has been said there are issues with the steering damper mount and steering lock, if someone can offer a solution regarding these issues, I`m sure there are lots of us that would like to do this conversion.........just coz it looks so nice.

The only other solution is to get a Cycle Cat type unit!
