Saw a 996 R that I have nearly brought see my other posts, but it was on Ebay awhile ago and didnt sell, Had alot of work done to the motor as the main bearing went. I never saw the Ebay auction so was there anyone on here who was interested, looked into it and found something that put them off. Would appreciate any feedback, as I will be coming to the UK in 3 weeks to get it.

Yep i saw it i believe all the work was done at Italia Moto in Lincoln, just up the road from me! Have heard nothing but praise from the lads at Italia, and the bike looked mint!! I wouldnt have any problems with buying a bike thats had the main bearings done as long as it was done by someone like them with their reputation or Nelly at cornerspeed! (like mine was!!)

yea I got abit worried, well its alot of money .So i rang Craig at Italia and from what he was saying I dont have any more troubles, nearly everything was replaced so its like a new motor. I even have to run it in as the motor has only 50 miles on it :D so its going to be hard to ride at 5500 rpm for another 450 miles.
Will also be hard to have it sitting in my garage for another 4 months till I can ride on our frozen roads.

Yea right minus 5 degrees here now, icy roads, snow ect , so no bringing it back in the van :o
But am I excited ? YES, like a little boy at christmas :saint:

Well its extremely exclusive here , as there are ONLY 2 other 996 R s here in Sweden and I dont know of ANY 998 R s here.
So I shall await my membership card TP ;)
In fact I am going to go out right now and check my mail......
