I'm going to be ordering my sprockets wednesday, on a budget so I'll be buying sprockets as I need them really, and since I'm not allowed to do trackdays on a 33bhp lisence does anyone know what sort of gearing I should be running for Cadwell?

Cheers,

Kyle

For a 98 onwards 583, you'd not go too far wrong in using 15/45 or 15/46 (virtually std gearing)

Pre 98 583's use a different primary gear ratio, which is what Skids ratio is right for.

Edited to add: if doing the woodland circuit only, then change front to 14 tooth.

and for anyone who cant read numbers:

Look at the engine, if an older one, the clutch hydraulic pipe goes to the RH side of the engine - straight onto the clutch cover.

On the later 583's it goes to the left side of the engine - where it bolts to a slave cyl which is attached to the bike with 3 bolts, which is right in front of the front drive sprocket.

The 2 engines makeup are totally different, and hardly any parts are interchangeable........

Hope this is of help?

Didn't the real early 583s Pre 95 have a different primary ratio to the 95 to 98 model and then changed again in 98 along with most of the other engine parts.

Out of control???? Gracefull slide??? Power without control is nothing!

Gearing, 13/14/15 fronts and a 40 rear(thanks skids) worked for me.

We used 15/40 for Snett/Brands/Cadders full...last three rounds.

Gearing only seemed to be an issue at Cadwell Woodlands last season, everywhere else I don't think it affected anyone greatly?

I think adjusting the right wrist earlier and for longer is the best mod going.....cue humorous gags!
