View Full Version : DUCATI 900 SUPER LIGHT INFO
No nothing about this bike, only that I saw/heard one today and took a shine to it, anyone own one? How much would a 1996 be?
Had one, K reg - was that 96?
Think it was number 256.
Things to look for amongst others:
cracked frame at stock.
carbs tended to ice up so some had oil warmer mod - I just used silkolene pro-fst additive.
front brakes are fully floating (mkI model) so tended to sound a lot worse than they are, they feel as though they are about to fall off
rear brake was converted by lots to be underslung although originally was over the swing arm
check the exhaust hangars - tended to snap with hairline cracks
apart from those Ducati characteristics - fine machine, wife wants me to go back to one.

I've got one (well a Final Edition but basically the same thing).
It is basically a special edition version of the carb 900SS with single seat unit, higher special exhausts plus a couple of goodies.
They aren't super-rare but they tend to be like buses - none for ages then three at once.
Price range is wide and would be anywhere from £2k for a nasty and abused one to £3k-ish for a superb one.
Don't know whether this one is still available.
