Hi All

First post and a complete newbie when it comes to Duc's... I just got myself a 2004 749s and I am stuck at the first techie hurdle...

After adjusting the chain what is the recomended torque setting of the rear axle bolt?? I tried referring to the manual but it says that chain adjustment should only be performed by an authorised Ducati dealer (!) Not sure if they are protecting themselves regarding the liability issues in the US but isn't that a wee bit overkill?

Cheers

Welcome.

And yes they say that so you don't take them to court when it falls off!

Dont forget to check the chain again after tightening the nut.........it does have a habit of making it tighter......and also find the tightest bit of the chain first as thats where youll do your measurement.;)
