Hi
I have a 748 on a '96 and have just bought a new slave cylinder for it, because a fella i know says the problems Im having relate to the slave.
Fluid goes black within a 1 day ride and i lost gears on the way back from Skeggy, had to crash them in as clutch did nothing, wouldnt stop the bike when pulled in.
Will this slave cure it?
and why cant i find a solid neutral?
the bike is in neutral but the light doesnt go on till i pass it and clunk into another gear?
oh and the previous owner did a clutch plate replacement - did he do this correctly or are these problems all connected?

love the bike - just want it to work like my others..

Fluid going black straight away is a very common thing don't worry about that. I had a similar clutch problem kept loosing clutch preasure and having to crunch through the box tried getting a new slave cylinder and after much head scratching, Turns it was the bearing in the preasure plate had seized, causing the push rod to spin up and cook and fliud in the slave cylinder. Cost less that £10 to fix and 10 mins work.

Had the same problems. Check the bearing as Mr C said. Mine was seized but also bleed new fluid though the system. Check out what Shazaam has to say about it. He knows his onions!
