came through the post this morning, thort i'd start a thread to discuss any questions about the paperwork. Nothing contraversial, just saves us all asking the same questions via mw!
And if this thread turns into a bun-fight I'll delete it!

My questions

1. What do we put where it asks "Member Of"
Would that be DSC or ACU?

2. On the Friday track day - I choose not to apply for the trackday sessions, but has there been an agreement/instruction that DD racers aren't to take advantage of this practice?

3. Sunday race - 13.15-14.15
Has anyone else just missed their ferry home!!! :o

The Dutch form is as confusing as hell. Lucky we don't have to fill it all in! I'm tempted to do the trackday but it means converting back to stealth cans (scrape-a-mondo!!) Would be good to have a go at the other two classes as well but it appears you can't do more than one class on the same bike. Doh! I haven't worked any logistics out at all but I'm looking forward to the whole thing.

I'm in a dilemma, if we book the ferry now we haven't got a confirmed entry, is anyone else booking a ferry before we have our entries confirmed on the 23rd ?

Already booked it Couchie.
Had to take the risk and grab a bargain December offer - although I think it's still available - NorfolkLines, Dover to Dunkerque, £44 return, (1 car and 2 passengers - lucky my bike fits in the boot!)

Unfortunately we are too far north and Hull is our option to take van over. As Assen is points scoring we want to do it, however if we don't got the DD entry we would be spending around £800 to score no points so we may as well ot go and save the money LOL decisions decisions....

Enjoy it guys, I won't be going - this will be one of my 2 races that I do drop. Seems I'm saving myself quite a bit of cash in to the bargain as well!!!

Just gotta make sure I make every other round and I can still drop my worse race. Not ideal, but those are the cards we've been dealt.

I shouldn't worry your head about 1st place. It only means that you'll be one place higher than you would otherwise be;)

Nick, good post, as the paperwork is a bit of a minefield!!!!

Both our lads want to do this:o , and we're going to do at least one entry for them into the winnie the pooh class;)

Now, someone remind me which way the classes are - class A is 620 - or 583???? - and class B??

Trackday - Monty there is no mention on your paperwork if the lads can do this or not.
Please can you confirm? - and if not, is this going to be something open to club members (CK thinking of self again! ) to enter???

We are now not going to book ferry for van with the 2 bikes, til confirmation of entries accepted for both at the end of the month.

C, not used to reading paperwork on a Sat!!:o

If you have any questions come back to Monty or myself directly and we will do our best to keep everyone informed.

There is a bit of background sorting out to be done over start permissions. etc in the next two weeks and then we can frim things up the week of the 23rd.

Got my form - and yes it's confusing isn't it ?

Couple of questions :

Charges = 110 euros for race plus 17.50 euros compulsory ins plus 35.00 euros for day license is that right ?

Gridtime ? - does that mean practice time paid for seperately or something else ?

AK
09-Jan-2006, 16:33
Lin, read montys covering letter hun, he doesnt need us to fill out the ins & licence section......
I got confuzzled with that first too

NBs996
09-Jan-2006, 16:40
Don't know what 'gridtime' is Lin, but to get all classes through qualifying in a 20 minute session would be a bit of a challenge! Our qualifying is on saturday.

I understand we don't need a day licence... we're racing on our ACU tickets with permission from the ACU. Right??

domski
09-Jan-2006, 16:51
I haven't got my paperwork yet, but are there other classes we can enter?

AK
09-Jan-2006, 16:55
yes, 2 others dom, but the 2nd one (thunderbears) will also be full of 996/8/9 's etc!!:o

and, there is only space on the enrty form for 2 classes:(

Nick, I'm pretty sure you are right - thats how I read it, tho no doubt Monty can confirm later?

CK & AK, you still going if only one bike gets drawn for the Desmo Due race?? Would love to go money may not allow if both team bikes don't get drawn i.e. 2 wallets are better than one!

AK
09-Jan-2006, 17:15
Stu, we are waiting till the entries are drawn, if only one bike, then we need to consider again whether to go, but cheers for the offer of a split in.
If 583 drawn & not 620, then we wont be going.

You never know, they might not have to draw it, but who knows? - we dont even know how many there are on each grid yet!

Def not booking the ferry till we get confirmation on the 23rd mate.

I'm lost... do I send any money to Monty for the race entry? Or will it be taken on the Credit Card as well?

help... I'd like to post that tomorrow.

AK
12-Jan-2006, 20:15
Tonio, I this is what I have done:

Complete the first form, header is: Assen Enrty request.
Fill in your credit/debit card info on it too.

Then also complete the 1st sheet of the Dutch forms headed: Entry form 27 International Ducati Race.
On that form, ignore the License and also Insurance sections, as per Monty's instructions in his covering letter.
I have not completed the financial section, except for getting the lads to sign & date the form,
as:
When the enrty has been accepted by the Race Committee you will be notified, and at a later point your c/card will be debited for the amounts due, as the club (DSC) have an arrangement - says Monty - to pay the entries in one go, direct from club funds.

Posted our forms on Tues.

Hope this is of help?

C:)

Cheers Charlotte. I've done that. I understood that the club would do a global payment but I didn't know if the 100€ for the entry would be included in that payment or if it would only cover insurance and licence fees... Anyway, thanks again :)

Posted my form tuesday too...
€110 is what will be taken from card (in £ equivalent), no other payment necessary - I understand the licencing and insurance is being sorted by the club with the ACU, although I don't remember any mention of if will cost us a little extra.

I thought I read on the form somewhere that if you compete in two classes you can't use the same bike. I thought it was a bit weird but ignored because I didn't enter another class.

I left it blank.

The page titled "Explanation Webform:" "1. General" says:
* Only if you are a member of the dutch Ducaticlub, fill in your member registration number.
* If you are a member of the KNMV, please please fill in your member registration number.

I'm a member of neither, so I left it blank... hopefully Monty's checking the forms and correcting accordingly!!

Just read the from again..the man is right " You may enter two classes but not on the same bike "............

I would think that refers to two dutch races.

We're international interlopers, so we're only doing one dutch race - I think.

The DSC instructions said we can do another race too.

NBs996
20-Jan-2006, 16:55
I'd've assumed it refers to the whole meeting, which our race is part of. Not sure tho, but those planning on two races probably ought to seek clarification from those in the know!
