OK, this is off my own back, and not a request by the rider below or his family - I just think it's ludicrus that this kid may have to ride a CB500 this season, when he's one of the best kids in Britiain - FACT!!!

Alex Gault is a 14 year old boy from Carluke in Central Scotland first sat on a Minimoto back in August 2000. Since then he has managed to become:

Scottish Winter Junior champion 2001

Scottish Winter Junior Minimoto champion 2001

Scottish Summer Junior Minimoto champion 2001

North of England Junior Minimoto Champion 2001

Endurance champion with team ZPF 2001

ACU National Junior "B" Pocket bike Champion 2002

ACU National Production “A” Pocket Bike Champion 2002

J.R.A. Formula 80 champion 2003

Darley Moor Formula 80 champion 2003

British PG Minimoto Champion 2003

Junior Racing Association 125Gp Champion 2004

Preston & District Open Single Champion 2004

He's been a factory minimoto rider, been on TV, won 125GP club races on a 80!!! The kid has TALENT... unlike me and 60 other DD riders!!!!

In 2005 Alex raced in the BSB 125 GP Championship but now the family is skint and so they are looking at going CB500 - Can you believe that!!!!!

I've known Alex Snr for about 4 years, although I've never met him, and he devotes his life to Alex Jnr and his racing.

Check out his website... www.minimotoracer.com

I believe that New Era will let him ride a 'big' bike, judging by a post on the CB500 Cup forum - normally 14 year olds can only race a 125.

Can you imagine the PR and interest generated in the series with a fetus clearing off in DD?

Couldn't DSC make him a mascot and give him some backing...? Wasn't there some talk of sponsorship at the AGM in 2004?
Surely there are plenty of people on here that would be willing to "chaperone" him and foster his obvious talent! (???)
