Is there someone that can help me?
I've got carters in my garage, with following nr:
ZDM851W4B-000285
Can someone tell me of what year it is?
Could it be from a tricolore?

from what i can see it breaks down like this
ZDM = COUNTRY OF ORIGIN, ITALY, obviously!!
851 = CAPACITY
W = WATER COOLED
4 = 4 VALVES PER CYL.
B = ???????????
000285 = PRODUCTION AMOUNT NUMBER.
so, if it is the 285th 851 built it would have to have been a tri-color or an 89 model.
.........maybe??

I think the 'B' means it was built at the Bologna plant.

thanks all for this.

@loony888, why do you think that it is a 89 model?

it was only a guess, after looking at falloon's std catalogue though, he lists 510 units built in 1988. so with yours being number 285 it makes sense that it is probably an 88 and therefore from a tri-colour. his breakdown for 88 is 304 strada, 152 kit and 54 kit USA. hope it helps,
cheers,

Ok. I was also thinking that, but was confused because you spoke of a 89 model.
Thanks guys for helping me with this.
