I know a number here have been abroad for trackdays. What do you do about personal injury insurance? I'm pretty sure our Insurance company would require a kidney and half a limb to add trackdays to the policy...

Are there any specialist companies around or is it simply a case of stumping up the cash?

There are specialists, I got insured last year for my Cartagena trip. I believe it was around £100 for the year. Will try to look out the name and number later.

Focused Events have a compulsory Travel Insurance that includes track riding, not sure about other operators. I did see this page on the Byrne-Up website, they insurance co probably do the cover independently of Bryne Up aswell

Four Counties do a policy called Travel Plus which covers adventure activities normally not covered on standard policies. It covers all sorts of activities including "Motor Cross" and "Motor Track days (amateur not competitive)". I've used it and had the broker explicitly confirm that it covers bike track days.

£24 for 5 days or £123 for an annual multi-trip policy for track days.
£33 for 5 days or £165 for an annual multi-trip policy for motor cross.
