Just fitted a new sidestand to my bike (thanks simon) and noticed this :puzzled: ....

Spy glass window just infront of the sprocket cover, whats it for?

Probably a really stupid question that i should know, but i cant even find it in the haynes manual

Page 2.9 in the haynes manual. Allows the timing to be done. You can see the timing marks through the window.

Ah so it is, thanks for that. Was a bit worried incase there was meant to be the gearbox oil level or something as there is nothing in there.

You should see oil splashing around when the engine is running.

If the level of metal particles floating around in the engine goes above the top level of the window, it's time for a service.

It made it to work so it must be fine!
