Started stripping the little girl down today, a few mods to be made to improve fixings etc. engine refresh to see how she looks after running her on a skinny synthetic and first purchase of suspension upgades. :)
Hopefully get her built back up a little earlier than I did this year.

Let me guess, Ohlins shock for the rear and possible fork internal upgrades :)

Dumping the Airbox and fitting a 916 tank possibly :)
So far my 2014 pre season prep has had more to do with emails and rule writing
But popped around Andy's (Banger San's) earlier today and borrowed his 2 into 1 conversion so I can see about getting one made for my 2014 bike

Steve if you are talking about the exhaust it should do, it mates up with the standard rear header and you just need to cut the front down pipe at the right point. Outlet wise mine is matched up to an early R6 Akraprovic but easily changed or could use a small link pipe.
How are you heeling?

Not sure it will Steve as your swingarm, suspension linkage, shock position and Rocker mount are all different and I think the rear header is slightly different.

Speaking of Exhausts Dallas's 2014 DD bike is away having a custom exhaust system made, well a couple actually one in Inconel again and a spare in that cheaper titanium stuff. Then when it returns I have to get my hands on it to build a custom wiring loom.
His forks are already back complete with with new piston kits and Springs
The way he's going I think he would like to see a 145kg minimum bike weight for Class A :)

I rode the wife's bike on Saturday, I can't find the throttle stop yet, and I'm still too weak on the brakes. Movement and strength are returning though, and hopefully they will improve further when the metal work comes out in November.

also wed eve load up- all day thu drive- fri/sat/sun track- all day mon drive- tue morn unload bike/load work tools= 3.5 days off work= over £400

A short while back we changed the DD rules so that all rounds counted towards the Championship.
If we are to Alter the rule again why only be allowed to drop Knockhill or Pembrey, some may prefer to drop Anglesey or Brands depending on where they are located, or maybe some other round to fit around a family holiday or other reason

Yes Miles as things currently Stand.
For many down South Croft is quite a distance and they may not bother going if the Top 3 in championships are already decided, putting a possible maximum of 200 points on the table at the final round may well keep some of the Championships undecided until the final round and attract more entrants
Personally I would like to do Croft even though its the last round, in October and in all likely hood my championship position will be of no consequence. But its a new circuit to me and should fit within my budget (although that may be dependent on me having a job beyond March)

Skids, as things stand now we're back into dropping rounds. Does that mean we drop a single full round or can we choose 3 races to drop from any rounds as per when we ran with New Era?

A final decision has yet to be made and then its getting the wording sorted.
The current thinking is either drop one whole round or any three "Did Not Start (DNS) races".
For those that do enter every round they will drop any DNS's along with their lowest point scoring finishes.
It will NOT be possible to drop DNFs, encouraging riders to ride for a result.
But allows riders to pull back points if they have bike problems early in a meeting

So hypothetically speaking, if you win every race apart from 3 crashes you still drop 75 points?
Apologies for getting a bit further ahead than needed at the mo.

Matt it was just over 12 months ago when I stepped down from the position and then it was decided that it would be an elected position for a term of 2 years. so towards the end of next season the position will become vacant and an election held.
I do get fed up of a lot of the selfish views that are often expressed at this time of year, many seem to have no idea about the original aims of DD and just want to change it into another race club class like all the others.
At present I am looking at requests from the Chief Technical officer to do something about our DD series oil issues, Anglesey, Brands, Cadwell and Pembrey this year, so 50% of events effected by oil
Also the securing of petrol tanks to reduce the likely hood of fuel spillage such as we had a delay for at Pembrey in August.
Also trying to secure a tyre deal for 2014
Putting together a 2014 Entrants spreadsheet
Updating the rule books for 2014 and Looking into how going to 9 rounds effects the rules and how to come up with alternative wording to the rule.
Thinking about the entry entitlement for Class B as at the moment its a restricted entry Class with no requirement to move on.
Yet it seems some would like to have prize money in the way of vouchers which seems a bit unfair to me on the newcomers coming into the class that would effectively be paying money to the more experienced racers finishing ahead of them. Then if the voucher system is done away next year you end up changing the rules again.
Always bearing in mind that Class B as it is now will soon die off if we don't attract New Novice racers to it each year. And the constantly rising costs don't help. Higher fuel costs, higher tyre prices, Higher entry fees from extra race and extra rounds, soon a £4k season becomes a £5 season and new racers start looking elsewhere
As far as I'm concerned DD isn't broken so why mess with it more than you have to.

I totally agree- why d'you need prize money- my first pot at about £7.5k seems well worth it and got there on ONLY 5 tyres from when i joined 2 seasons ago (and 2 of them are still good for next season)- nice and simple with closely matched cheap bikes makes good racing that even i can almost afford-
stick to yr guns kev- it's a philosophy that works- can't see class b dying anytime soon and it looks really promising for next year judging by the end of this season with a good core of guys with great attitude-
can't wait for next season and wouldn't change anything apart from maybe being sponsored!!

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. The whole concept of DD works for me on and off the track. The DSC committee make good educated decisions and don't seem overse to sensible ideas and requested as long as they go through the committee at the correct time.
I for one am happy with it.

I totally support what Miles said....
I know I have only been here for one season, and I have little to compare against in terms of bike racing. But to me the management of DD racing is outstanding and I really could not agree more with the other posts...it really is not broke, in fact quite the opposite.
Having been involved in other sports and I do know that what the whole DD organisation does can seem like a very thankless task, but still they carry on working really hard to provide us with a fantastic series. I also know how much it means to be supported and appreciated, so to all the DD organisers...
THANK YOU!

I'm guessing we won't have a tyre deal and tyres in place before January so I'd better just get another set of Dunlops for Cartegena at the end of Jan.
