Hi, just bought a pair of magnesium rims and the rear is a 6".
Will I need to put a 190 on the rear or will my new 180 fit.Old wheels were 5.1/2 "
Also does any one know of any decent people who can strip and repaint them, not sure about doing it myself. They need to be in the south :D
Many thanks |matt:sing:

You have Dymag who will do a sterling job, not sure where they are based but it is in the south, or you could ask Colin at Oxford Industrial Finishers who will also do a very good job (01865 882883).

6 inch should definately be a 190.
I had a 180 on my mag 6 inch when i got the bike and it was awful...the narrow tyre is stretched across the rim width giving a flat profile that , even though the tyre was new, it behaved like a really badly squared off tyre...snaked all over white lines/overbanding and was a sod to turn.
190 and it was transformed...the proper tyre profile.
The ideal fitment would be a 190/55, but there aren't many options in that size apart from supercorsas or the new dunlop 209 gps for example.

Thanks hav supercorsas sound good to me:sing:
Run ex-race rennsports all year on my fazer6 and on my track bike love them to bits,so supercorsas would be great on the duke
Matt
you can also get the 190/55 in rensports.
I have them on mine and they are great. tried the 190/50 and it looked flat
