I take it that's just for trackdays ?

Nup, they still test for racing as well but they are more lenient than the track days.
My understanding is that they are supposed to test at 2/3rds (can't remember) revs at a distance of 1m from the can and at a 45 degree angle. On the track day the guy made me hold the bike at 8k and practically climbed in the can with the noise pressure meter! I just scraped through with Leo Vince cans on the 620.
On raceday I measured a lot less as he actually did stand back etc and I held the revs at 6k'ish.
Ali failed on the track day and amused us all with his drilling of his end can and subsequent 'mechanics' :D
Even more amusing was when he shot the baffle out of the can later on!
I remember following Phil on that day and seeing a bit of smoke every now and then. We came in and he had a leaky fork seal. The guys threw a rope or something over a tree behind us to lift from the yoke and got the fork changed.
All in all a very amusing day!!

I think it's still 105db ... but there's 105db and then there's Castle Combe track day 105db ... measure it at 3/4 revs and shove the meter inside the can! If it's over 105 I'd take some DB killers with you!

Ta, how do their days work, says max of 12 bikes on circuit at once ? I did hear it's 6 groups at 10mins each, if that's true then I think I'll just do the race meeting and enter SOT as well for more tracktime.

Yep - that's it.
You actually do get a decent amount of track time over the day but not as much as a normal track day I don't think. The benefit though is that you have almost the whole track to yourself.
Rattler, Phil and I were chasing each other everywhere and there was all sorts of mindgames starting - people just following each other and not overtaking when they could etc.
It was a classic!

my 620 monster with standard header/link pipes and new c/f Termi's was recorded at 104/105db @ 4500 rpm on race day

then i would think it would fail on track day......mine read 97db at 4500 on race day but 107db at 7500 on track day...
Phil
take noise killers to be safe

Sounds good to me I was already planning on two days at Castle Combe, now just need to find a Ducati for the Superbike race for my mate Simon Knowlson to ride.
Hopefully my van will pass its MOT next Wednesday and my eyes will pass their test on Thursday, then I can sort my licence and go racing
I've the pictures at home i think of the tree side workshop!
