Ebay is your only other option, then get it repainted.

You aren't, by any chance, looking to exchange for a nice, original solo unit, are you?:saint:

no but thanks for the offer!
tbh i want one to tour with
need a bip seat unit so i can fasten the lights etc and then luggage to it without worrying about wrecking the paint finish on my other mint seat units
thinking about a fibreglass one maybe - any1 got any suggestions of a decent one with light cut outs? pre-preg would be better still............

If you are going to put luggage over the passenger seat area why have a Bip unit, the one Dave at H.C.Ractech does is for a road bike & he does a good paint job to your spec for a good price.
Have attched a pic of my trackday seat unit, complete with rear light holes, Dave has a bracket glassed into the seat unit so it accepts your bip brackets etc, have got spare brackets for my unit & it know takes all of one minute to swap from twin to single:D

will be a lot easier with the bip and much more secure

It doesnt work on a 748/9**, thats why you never see them, you can't go under the exhausts due to sress and heat and over is awkward as its a crap rout, you'll never get the tension you need, plus it flexes the edges of the seat and potentially crack it.
Get the ventura rack and use your luggage with that, its far more secure ....
Or get a decent rucksack ...
hi loverobot
I have a bipo seat of my 2003 998, originally red, but now resprayed black after a bit of road rash repairs. Upgrading to a mono seat so yours for £35 plus post.
Get back to me if you're interested.
Cheers
no lights or front bracket but has rear bracket
