Bought a set of the polished ss valve covers on Ebay a few months ago, and since my engine was in the shop I didn't really look at them when they arrived. Got my engine back, and instead of the 3 plain covers and the one with the mounting for the oil cooler, one of the polished 'plain' covers actually has a 30mm round threaded aperture and a mounting for something to be attached. They were advertised as for a carb ss and monster; could they be for a later model?

TIA,

Iain C.

Yep. The hole is for the temp sensor on the injected bikes.

Thanks Nelly.

What's the mounting for?

I imagine a probe of some sort will sit inside and relay temperature info to the engine management system.

Perhaps you could put a threaded fitting of some type and still be able to use them?

Nelly ???
