Also, if you like the idea of a weekday tack day tie in, would you prfer to do the TD and have the eve after in the hotal or the other way around?

philthy

Given the almost zero interest, I'll not be bothering to try to do anymore with this event. Hope to catch up with most of you at some event or anther this year.

:(.....Perhaps the peeps are hibernating......maybe try again when the weather warms up and young mens fancy turns to thoughts of twisty roads in far off places ( And big fried breakfasts when you get there )?

Nope, don't give up. I, at least, need an incentive to get the bike back together again.

I'll be there.

As I've already said, my preference would be to arrive Saturday afternoon, drool over the hundreds of 888's that turn up (well, alright, tens of 888's then), go for some beer, banter and an overnight (for those that can get weekend passes), then hook up with a local rideout to show off our bikes to other Ducatisti.

That way, the folks that can only get out for a day can at least meet up with all the other 888's that turn up and those that are lucky enough to have extended passes can stay for a bit of a scoot with the locals.

Not so keen on the trackday idea because I can only afford to do a couple a year maximum and they'll be the DSC Cadwell and Oulton dates

Jasper
16-Feb-2006, 21:13
I like the idea of meeting on the Sat,851/888 ride out, those that can't stay can then leave, leaving the remainder to drink, eat and be merry in the evening.Leaving Sunday to meet up with the locals for another ride out or to make their way home.

Not interested in the TD option-pushing my luck with Cadwell and Oulton as it is!!

Jasper
16-Feb-2006, 21:15
Rob,don't give up!!Organise it and they will come!!:D

Rob B
16-Feb-2006, 21:20
So how many places are we talking about for a hotel? 5, 10, 15?

Jasper
16-Feb-2006, 21:36
I am planning on coming, not sure if i can afford that hotel though!!££££££££££££££££:(

It's a fair way for the suvners though. Not sure i would go if it was at Brands!!

Nattyboy

Saturday and some beer :D

16-Feb-2006, 23:43
If you need a central meeting point, you're welcome at the workshop. Kettle will be on and there's a good butty shop down the road.
There's a couple of travel lodge type places near by and i could probably squeeze a few bikes in the unit overnight.
There's some decent routes locally and there's always Matlock Bath if you want to go and pose :biaggi:

the offers there if it helps :D

17-Feb-2006, 08:54
I've also pretty much decided I'm going to do the DSC Cadwell trackday (when I pull my finger out and actually join the club) so it looks like there will be a few of us there. As for the 8** meet, Nellys idea sounds good but I'll certainly try and make whatever is organised!

Is this happening,Rob?

philthy
29-Mar-2006, 19:30
Just a thought....would it be worth doing a thread asking everyone who has an 851/888 to post their details so we could find out how many owners there are who watch / post here?

Also, is it worth contacting the DOC ( Or any other clubs/forums )to see how many 851/888owners they have on their books who might like to attend?

At the end of the day we might have to arrange a meet in the north and one in the south and video conference with each other:D

Guys.
I've noticed that we've had at least 3 days on the trot with sun and no rain lately (well, in Norfolk anyway.) haven't seen the gritters out for a while either.
So, gentlemen, it appears summer is on it's way. Which means we should now revise the agenda, and sort out this meet. I wanna see 888's aplenty, and much silliness.
So. We got Rob B who is an ace sorter outer ( you wanna see his hillclimb car - awaesome, plus, look at his T8!) and Nelly's offer of the workshop in Notts. It seems that a few are put off by the idea of too much time away from the 'marital nest' and all it's responisbilites (you mugs hehehehe) plus the cost of hotels. So. A day meet??? Early start, ride from wherever in the country, meet up around mid morning. Brekkie. Run out to wherever, not too far, keep it within 50 miles say. Lunch. Chat/bullshit/impress the locals. Then all to bugger off from there mid afternoon to get home for tea. Bikes, food and chat, AND keep the missus happy by not staying out anywhere overnight.
Plan??!!

Nattyboy

Rob B
17-Apr-2006, 17:02

preferably when it's the following.

1) Dry
2) Warm
3) sunny

better still all 3 together, but that might be asking him upstairs just a tad to much .;);)

How about the dsc trackday at Cadwell? Those that want to ride the track do,those that don't,just park up along with all the other 851's/888's.

i'm doing the TD on the Monday, but will be staying Monday night and watching Tuesday.

Saturday 8th July??

Nattyboy

Looks OK here..?

Ains.
02-May-2006, 12:12
Weekend of 24th June? Mid-summers day and all the Druids will be praying to Stonehenge and not lying in the middle of the road. Also means longest evening of the year to stop up bantering.
Plus the old red bus should be restored and I'm guaranteed to be in the UK.

Ains.

Rob B
02-May-2006, 12:55
24th June is Misano qulaifying, and I'll be there.

Jools
02-May-2006, 13:23
So the vote is for:

Saturday 8th July at Cornerspeed
August 21st or 22nd at Cadwell Park

I'm OK for both...and seeing how the 888 fares in the fast group at Cadders...I hope it stays in one piece, both mechanically speaking and by staying upright :o

keith888
02-May-2006, 16:34
My original plan was to do the Cadwell track day on the 888 but the way things are going with the police investigation into the theft claim of 'my' bike its looking increasingly unlikely I'll be able to ride the 888. I'll turn up to Cornerspeed as long as I don't get lynched for turning up on a 2-stroke!

Nottingham !! so that's 125 miles of motorway to see a bunch of ugly mugs :o

Ok I can do that, but just to see some nice bikes mind you, so what's the agenda for the day ?

My preference would be Cadwell, sadly the missus doesn't want me to miss our holiday so can't make that one
Divorce is so much moreexpensive than a track day...

Jasper
03-May-2006, 17:06
I can do the 8th July.

Jools
03-May-2006, 17:11
So it's looking like the 8th July at Cornerspeed then? Does Nelly know? Better ask him to get some extra milk in for the coffee :D

Jasper
03-May-2006, 17:12
It will be fun turning all the bikes around in there!!

Mr. R
03-May-2006, 19:21
Hi Neil,
125 miles i'm green with envy! it's 140+ just to get to Bristol from here!
I'm up for the midlands meet, but would arrive the night before, just to rest these older than my years bones,so the 2 nights or the saturday meet would suit me.
I like most of the lads here have many calls on my time, but if i can be there i will DEFFO.
Steve
