Hi Guys
Just joined your band and heading to the bar. Have enjoyed your tech knowledge and friendly banter for a while. My completely standard 888 Strada is tucked away for the winter but I'm thinking of some new high level fruity pipes. The Sill Motos seem much less expensive than the Termi's and are still available - Carpimoto, Italy. Are they good and will I need to order a chip and special hanger?

Welcome Stuart.

Like you, my completely standard 888 Strada is tucked away for the winter (it's coming out on Saturday though for a ride to the DSC AGM). I'm also thinking about a set of high level carbon fibre cans, but only for the looks, since my current cans are standard but have had a Bora conversion that whips out most of their innards for a seriously fruity bark - sounds fabulous.

I may not be very original in my plans to create an SP5 lookalike but I definitely want to go down the single seat, high level route in the fullness of time and if I couldn't get a good deal on Termi's I would definitely go for Sils. I had Sils on my ST2 until I wiped the right hand one out in a lowside and they're good quality bits of kit. Sil are OEM suppliers for Ducati Performance and rumour has it that they're made by the same people that make Termis (could be wrong about that)

Termis for 888's seem to be making stupid money, a set just sold on eBay for just over 800 notes.

Anyway, high level cans are definitely on my list, but after a couple of anxious brake fade moments (cos the 888 brakes are nowhere near as good as the P34's on my ST) a set of billet brembos are my priority for the T8.

Oh and mines a Guiness

Thanks for tips and of course the warm welcome guys.
I'm from sunny sarf London!
The 888 is an early '94, black wheels, gold frame and all pretty standard. Not quite as pampered as some of the sooper dooper ones you guys have been getting together over the winter.
Maybe I'll look at the single seat option (those german weiss boys) - if I can find a good paint/spray shop locally, and get hold of the seat pads, will go nicely with some h/l fruity cans, of course keeping all originals safely stored.

aha - another owner being pulled down the errm 'small project' route :D and before you know it...well you won't know just how it all happened but she'll be pampered to death AND sooper dooper...
oh and mine's a Dalwhinny, no ice , no water...
ta very much

You're not reading my mind are you? That's exactly what I was thinking (after upgrading my brakes of course).

I could get paranoid about people being able to see my innermost thoughts - and I've put silver paper in my shoes and everything to stop that sort of mind control
