giving my 750ss carby a clean yesterday and I noticed that the little sight glass in the clutch resevoir seems to be housing some rather muddy water aka shite clutch fluid... would this be the reason for my clutch slipping??

Not really, this is just the hydraulic fluid that essentially operates the push rod on your clutch. However, if its THAT bad I guess you should really change the fluid. Some good tips on here about doing this - lol - have a search.....

well. the clucth works and functions fine, it just slips as the power dials in, well, as I throttle it!
Might try that oil change thing...

Paolo,

Bleed your brakes and clutch and change the oil and filter. I always do that when I buy a new bike so you know what you are starting with. Easy to do, and not expensive.

New friction plates, and check the drive plates. Again, easy to do. You have been living with this problem for a while now and it should be easy to fix. New oil in my opinion will not fix your slipping clutch.
